Easter is very nearly upon us and – along with the Christmas period – it tends to be a time when we over indulge. It can be hard to resist the temptation of eating chocolate, especially when the kids seem to be getting more and more eggs each year. But, fear not. Here at Butterfly Direct, we’ve got some great tips on how you can enjoy Easter without being unhealthy.

Enjoy a Cracking Breakfast

It’s traditional to wake up on Easter Sunday and crack open the first chocolate egg that comes in view. But, why not crack open a different kind of egg? The ones that come from a hen and not from a factory are full of nutrition – but it’s how you cook them that’s the important part. Avoid frying your egg, and try poaching or boiling them instead. This will help keep the saturated fat to a minimum. Also, if you prefer your eggs scrambled, don’t add any butter!

Prepare a healthy lunch

There are plenty of healthy recipes out there that your whole family will absolutely love. If you haven’t got a reliable cook book on hand, then try checking online where the likes of Jamie Oliver and co will be able to get you started. Once you’ve finished, try walking your food off with a trip to the park. You can even get involved in some sporty activities for an Easter that’s full of family bonding.

There’s always a time for flowers

Instead of asking for chocolate off your partner this Easter, why don’t you suggest he buys you flowers? These will help brighten up the house with their beauty and fragrance, and they will last longer than a week – something that can’t be said about chocolate! If you really do have to be naughty and can’t resist a nibble, try beautiful ones that can be enjoyed slowly.

This moves us nicely onto the next section. What about the times when we can’t resist temptation and we cheekily eat an egg (or two)? Well, don’t worry about it. Everyone has a moment of weakness now and again. Luckily, we’ve got some great products on our website that will help reduce the effects of a cheat day.

Carb Blockers

These capsules work in a unique way to most other weight loss products on the market. By inhabiting some of the enzymes that break down complex carbohydrates, they allow the carbs to pass undigested into the large colon. In simple terms, it means that the calories are ‘bypassed’, and it’s a great way of kick-starting your diet!

Fat Blockers

These work slightly different to the previous product in that they block 30-50% of the fat you intake by forming a layer on the stomach lining. This binds with the fat, and allows it to pass undigested through the body.

Garcinia Cambogia Complex

Do you ever struggle with perhaps eating slightly more than you should? Perhaps you struggle with portion sizes? Well, these capsules reduce appetite, increases serotonin (the ‘feelgood’ hormone), calms mood, and helps reduce cravings. Is there anything this wonder product can’t do?

Lastly, we’ve got some tips on how you can keep the whole family entertained over the Easter holiday.

Easter Egg Hunt

It doesn’t matter what age you are – everybody loves an Easter Egg hunt. So if you’ve got a decent sized garden, hide the eggs in the morning and let your family seek them out. You could even play it in the house if the weather is bad (it probably will be). Additionally, you may be able to sign up to a local egg hunt where you can play in forests or the countryside.

Go to church

If you’re a traditionalist who likes to celebrate Easter for its true meaning then why not take your family to church? Celebrate the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus for an educational day out. It may not be for everyone but it’s great if you’re a Christian!

Go on Holiday

If you’ve got the time, why don’t you go away over the Easter holiday? The kids are off, and even though it may be more expensive at this time of the year, it’s a great way to relax and unwind. You can opt to go abroad and try something different, or stay in the UK and enjoy the first signs of spring!
